OVERVIEW OF IB MATHEMATICS
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) works towards providing students with the necessary knowledge and interpersonal skills to prepare them for university studies. Many schools in Singapore offer the IB curriculum, including the School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA), Anglo-Chinese School (Independent), Australian International School, Nexus International School, and many more. Additionally, Nexus International School is located less than 5km away from Glenn Lee Learning Centre in Katong, providing convenience for students looking for IB Mathematics tuition. There is also a direct bus from SOTA to our Katong tuition centre for added convenience.
Under the new syllabus starting in 2021, students can now choose from four types of Mathematics subjects, IB Applications and Interpretations (AI) – Standard Level and Higher Level, IB Mathematics Analysis and Approaches (AA) – Standard Level and Higher Level.
Excelling in IB Math is essential for students to achieve good results in the IBDP Curriculum and develop the logical and creative thinking necessary to thrive in today's data-intensive world. IBDP students are required to study one course from each subject group, Group 1 to Group 6. There are 2 Mathematics subjects under Group 5, Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA) and Mathematics: Applications Interpretation (AI), with AA being the more frequently-taken Maths subject. In order to stand out, IB students should consider enrolling in an IB Math Tuition in Singapore.
IMPORTANCE OF IB MATH TUITION
Students are evaluated throughout the IBDP curriculum through External and Internal Assessments. IB Math students need to be consistent in their revision and learning of the IB Maths syllabus throughout the curriculum. In addition, they have to pick up skills such as quantitative reasoning and mathematical thinking.
Math tuition for IB students in Singapore can help demonstrate to students how they can utilise mathematics in real-life situations. IB Math students must fully understand mathematical facts and concepts while honing their problem-solving and reasoning skills. Students are also expected to be able to demonstrate an understanding of the notations and appropriate technology to be used in various contexts. IB Math tutors can provide students with a bank of IB Math questions to practice with and equip them with problem-solving skills that they can apply in real-world and abstract contexts.
At Glenn Lee Learning Centre, our tutors have the knowledge and expertise to guide students in understanding the IB Math concepts and formulas. Our tutors will equip students with the tools to sit for the IB Maths (AA) or IB Maths (AI) assessment.
